The Batu Caves in located inside a Cave, formed out of a Limestone Hill. Batu Caves means Stone Cave; batu is a malay word for stone. There are shops at the base of the hill at the entrance area and inside the cave area.

The best time to visit Batu Caves Temple for Photoshoot will be on Thaipusam Day. The religious festival will be most busy for 3 days, that is 1 day before and 1 day after the actual date. The place will be packed with Hindu devotees carrying Kavadis and tourist. Extra stalls setup selling food and other things. You can take the KTM train and stop at Batu Caves station and walk 100m to the temple.
