The Hmong Hill Tribe people originated from Tibet, Siberia, Mongolia and then they move to the Hill region of the Yellow River in China. After which they move to the Golden Triangle Area of Loas, Thailand, Cambodia and Burma. They were recruited by the French and US Forces to figh in the Vietnam War and Loatian Civil War. After the French and US defeats the Communist Government started to kill the Hmong tribe. As a result they fled to Thailand and settled down. Their main occupation are farming and livestock rearing. They also cultivate Poppy plants from which Opium is derived.
The cooling months are in November and December. The picture shows the mist in the daytime in the month of November. The Wind is strong and cold. You really need a thick jacket.
Currently the Hmong Hill Village at Doi Pui is more of a Tourist area where the Hmong does handicrafts which are sold cheaply to tourist. This is a great place to buy clothings, bags, hat, shoes, shirts, handkerchief and other handicraft items for your friends. There are also coffee shops selling drinks and noodle soups. Strawberries are also on sale.
